Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Phase 3 Compliance Deadline extended to 5 June 2024
You now have until 5 June 2024 (previously 5 December 2023) to prepare and submit your ESOS compliance reports. This is good considering the EA has yet to finalise content!
It is worth bearing in mind that the whole ESOS submission process can take 8 to 12 weeks to complete, depending on how many sites need to be audited. It is also important to remember that the longer you wait, the more difficult it will become to find a cost-effective, qualified lead assessor.
It is important to note that notifications for Phase 3 compliance cannot be submitted until the final requirements have been legislated and the ESOS notification system, currently under review, has been updated. We will keep you informed.
We would urge you to continue your energy assessments and audits, remembering that successful compliance with ESOS is not just about meeting the regulatory requirements. ESOS presents an opportunity to demonstrate commitment to energy efficiency and decarbonisation.
